These nucs are our babies! They are entirely raised, bred, and overwintered in Michigan outdoors. So these nucs are hardy and true survivor stock. Each nuc has been carefully selected to ensure health and vitality of the bees and our genetic line. These queens are from our main breeder queen Viplidoo who we have put through various stress tests over the last 6 years to get a queen that stands a better chance with mites and is a pro at overwintering in our climate. She has been known to be able to over winter in a double story nuc or a giant 10 by 10 production hive. (For more in detail info about our queens check out the About Us page)
Full price is $200 with a $50 deposit to reserve your nuc.
Nucs (short for nucleus colony) is a fully established small starter hive. Each nuc will contain 5 frames in total containing brood of every stage (2-3 frames), honey and pollen (2 frames), 1 empty frame (to give the bees something to work on, give space, and prevent swarming) bees, and a queen. They will come in a plastic or cardboard nuc box that is intended for easily transporting bees. But, this is not their long term home. You will need to move them into a complete hive set up as soon as possible after you purchase them.
Deposit price to reserve your nuc is $50 and is non refundable. Unless we are unable to produce the nuc colony for your order for reasons such as weather conditions. The remainder of the payment is due on the day of pick up.
They will be available for pick up sometime between the end of April and the first couple weeks of May. It is weather dependent so I will send you an email ahead of time once our timeline is set.
